With more than thirty years of experience as a landman, Reed brings unprecedented experience and expertise to Heritage’s Mineral Management team.
Prior to joining Heritage, Reed spent nearly ten years as a supervisor in the land title department at Chesapeake Energy Corporation. While there, he managed and mentored more than twenty members of the land title staff working on prospects in Ohio, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Kansas. In addition, Reed helped develop, implement and manage the title landman training program for CHK.
Prior to his time at Chesapeake, Reed spent two decades as a landman for Bearcat Land where he provided full service mineral rights management duties including settling surface damages, lease negotiation, evaluation, managing prospects, research and title curative functions. Reed has also worked as an independent landman for Reagan Resources conducting detailed and cursory title record checks on HBP lands. He got his start in oil and gas at Resources International, Ltd. in 1981.
He’s a member of Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen (OCAPL), Committee Member of the OCAPL Board (Sporting Clays Event Committee) and the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). He belongs to Edmond Church of Christ where he serves in a leadership role on the Men’s Ministry Committee.
With wife Paula, Reed has two daughters and two grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, hunting, sporting clays and golf.
