Meet Drew Davis, who is with Argent Trust in Shreveport and has been with us for 5 1/2 years.
Q. What led you to Argent and what makes it unique?
A. I was led to Argent on a recommendation by a friend, they said they thought I would fit in very well at Argent and really liked the company and the way it was run.
Q. Why do you enjoy working at Argent?
A. I enjoy working at argent because of all the wonderful people here. I love working with the people inside of my team just as much as I do working with the people outside of my team, the culture here is second to none.
Q. What does the company mean to you?
A. Argent to me always met a way to provide for my family and secondly to do something I enjoy doing daily, that took on a whole different meaning this year with the Covid pandemic. The fact that I was able to keep working at my job and keep my kids at home when the school shut down was a true blessing.
Q. Recount a favorite memory or project from your time at Argent.
A. My favorite memory of a time at Argent was without a doubt the leadership Academy. It really opened my eyes to the company to travel around to different offices and learn how they do business. Meeting and talking with people you have only shared emails with was a great experience as well as a great relationship builder.
Q. What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with Argent?
A. For the next 10 years at Argent I would like to continue to excel in my position and would like to continue to help the company grow.
Q. What is a random fact about you?
A. A random fact about myself is that as much as I love sports, I really don’t like to watch them on TV.
Q. What is your favorite quote?
A. I think I would be remiss if I did not give a coach sayings quote, so here it is:
“Character is an accumulation of your thoughts, habits, and your priorities. It is the way you think, what you do and what is important to you. Because those three things determine the choices that you make and the choices you make, make you who you are. But you cannot have good character without discipline. Discipline is doing what you’re supposed to do, when you’re supposed to do it, how it is supposed to be done. The right thing, the right way, at the right time, every time.”
Q. If you could have any other job for one day, what would it be?
A. I’m not really sure what job I would have for a day. I think this answer would change depending on my mood and what I’m wanting to learn.
Q. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A. I think that if I can meet anybody from the past it would be Ben Franklin. From what I’ve read about him I like the way he approached subjects with an open mind and was willing to let the subject change his view depending on what he learned.
Q. What’s your favorite thing to do in Shreveport?
A. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my friends, whether that is hunting, playing tennis or just going out to dinner I enjoy it all. I think one, if not the most important things in this life are the relationships we maintain.
Q. What motivates you?
A. My kids are a big motivator in my life, like most parents, I want to give them more opportunities and a life that was better than what I have.
