1| Which nonprofit are you passionate about serving?
Rotary International
History: Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. For more information click here
Rotary of Ruston has been an active part of the community since 1943. Ruston Rotary serves the city of Ruston as well as the parish through its many philanthropic endeavors.
2| How long have you been volunteering?
I have been volunteering for four years. I currently serve as President for Rotary of Ruston-District 6190.
3| What do you do when you volunteer?
We were able to help this year by providing winter coats to school age children across the parish, completing an update on a cabin at Med Camps of Louisiana, providing weekly back packs of food for elementary children to take home for the weekend and distributing 200 bags of food over the holiday season.
4| What do you enjoy most while volunteering?
Bringing members of the community together with the common goal of serving others. At the closing of every weekly meeting, we recite the following:
Rotary 4-Way Test
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
5| What would you say to someone who’s thinking of volunteering?
Whether it is Rotary International or another non-profit, I highly encourage everyone to participate and give back where they can.
