David Williams, executive vice president of Argent Trust Company and manager of its fiduciary services team in Atlanta, Georgia, has been appointed to The ESOP Association’s (TEA) inaugural Public Policy Council.
Williams, who also will serve on TEA’s Fiduciary Committee, joins an influential group of employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) experts who will help shape and guide public policy and advocacy activities for TEA, which is the country’s largest employee ownership trade organization.
The volunteer members of the Public Policy Council have well-established relationships with federal and state policy makers and possess a deep knowledge of ESOP issues. TEA represents the interests of ESOP companies in the U.S. that employ more than 10.6 million people and contribute $1.377 trillion annually to the national economy.
In high demand for his professional insight and expertise, Williams speaks and writes about employee stock ownership plan topics, as well as other employee benefit plan and executive compensation issues. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and American Bar Association, the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) and many other professional groups.
